Example:
A residence valued at $250,000 has an assessed value of $23,750. If it is located in tax district 0150, it then has a tax amount of $1,834.21
250,000 x 9.5% = 23,750
23,750 x .077230 = $1,834.21
When figuring the tax amount, the decimal point in the mill levy is moved 3 places to the left.
