To provide the Citizens and Visitors of Weston County a safe and secure environment where we can live and raise healthy families.

Continue to provide a high level of protection and preparedness for our community through training, education and professional standards for all members of the Weston County Sheriff’s Office.

MESSAGE:
The Weston County Sheriff’s Office purpose is to strive for the best Peace Officer protection for the community as well as providing a safe, sanitary and secure Detention facility for those inmates housed at the Weston County Sheriff’s Office.  Our professional standard of operating in all facets of the Weston County Sheriff’s Office is paramount in continuing the high level of confidence that our community enjoys with the Office of the Sheriff.

Weston County is accepting applications for:

DETENTION OFFICER

The Weston County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the position of Detention Officer.  Starting wage will be DOE and an 8 week training course at the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy in Douglas, WY will be required within the first year of appointment (paid for by the WCSO).  Applicant must have a valid Driver’s License, High School Diploma or GED equivalent, must pass physical, psychological and drug test and a background check.

DEPUTY SHERIFF

The Weston County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the Position of Deputy Sheriff.  Applicants must live in Weston County or be willing to relocate.  Starting wage will be DOE/POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) Certification.  POST Certification is required within one year from date of appointment by the Sheriff. 

Applicant must have a valid Driver’s License, High School Diploma or a GED equivalent and successfully pass a physical, psychological and drug test as well as and investigative background check and other requirements established by Wyoming POST.
